CJ and I went to Comic-Con again on Friday using the trolley. It was an easy ride and this time there were no costumed riders on our car. There were other people headed to the same place as indicated by their conference badges around their necks. We talked to a man who was going to all four days. Being there all day on Thursday had worn him out and he was feeling sore. I was sure I would be too if I spent a whole day there. Today we planned to spend only 4 hours.

The trolley let us off across the street from the convention center and it was an easy, though crowded, walk to the entrance. Thursday seemed like it had lots of people but today was really packed. We headed for the exhibit hall where we saw costumed people in the entrance way even before entering the hall. Many of the costumes took lots of work to make and looked very good. The people in these costumes almost always stopped for photos. Just ask nicely and they will strike a pose.

After walking up and down the aisles of the exhibit hall we stopped be a table where a cartoonist was signing his artwork. It was Greg Evans who does the Luann comics that we read in the news paper almost every day. We bought one of his signed comic strips and spent some time talking to him. He was very relaxed and easy to talk to. Later we stopped at a booth where two young twins were promoting the books they had written. Brittany and Brianna Winner wrote the Strand: Extinctions Embrace and the Strand: Prophecy (as well as other books). I bought both books and they were kind enough to sign them for me and then posed for pictures.

We went through more of the exhibit hall before heading upstairs for a little more room outside. At the back of the convention center stairs lead down to the bayside. A line of people was formed on one side of the stairs and continued off towards the right on the bay front walk. A volunteer helping with line control said the line was to see a Lego figure. The line extended off to Seaport Village, several hundred yards to the right from our perspective. No, we did not join the line. We went back inside and found our way to the other side of the convention center. From a third story viewpoint we looked out across the street to the trolley stop and 5th Avenue. The mass of people completely hid the asphalt street and the concrete sidewalks. Later we entered that mass of people to get a trolley ride back to our car. It was slow moving in the crowd but no one seemed upset or bothered. CJ and I look forward to going again next year.
