Deauville umbrellas CJ and I joined with two other couples to explore around Le Havre. We hired a car and driver for the day and got to go to Deauville, Tourville, Honfluer and Entretat. This was great idea for a way to have our own tour. Deauville is a resort town with many rich residents with large homes and there is a beautiful hotel and a grand casino there. We stopped and went for a walk on the beach. It turned out that an American Film Festival was going on and we saw people lined up outside of tents - not sure what they were waiting for. The beach had rows and rows of umbrellas planted in the sand all furled around their poles. They were colorful and lent a nice contrast to the overcast sky.

Lunch stop was in Honfluer - one of our favorite towns to visit because of its pretty harbor. And we got salami in the market to go with the chesse.

We stopped in a small market for cheese and it might have been wonderful but we didn't eat soon enough. We went on to Entretat where there are huge cliffs extending into the water. CJ and I enjoyed the colorful boats pulled up on the beach. Then it was time to drive back to La Havre and get back aboard the ship. It was a wonderful day.
